How to Charge a Rechargeable Disposable Vape (Safely)

Modern high-puff disposables hold far more e-liquid than a single charge can vaporise, so they include a small rechargeable battery and a USB-C (the WALA POP uses Type-C charging) port. Charging one is easy — but a few safety habits keep it fast, reliable and safe.

What you need

Almost every rechargeable disposable today uses a USB-C port. You only need the cable — not a fast-charging wall brick. The safest power source is a standard 5V USB port: a laptop, a power bank, or a low-output phone charger.

  • Use a USB-C cable (most phone cables work).
  • Plug into a low-power USB port, not a high-wattage fast charger.
  • Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface.

Step by step

Charging takes just a few minutes for most devices:

  • 1. Plug the USB-C cable into the device and a 5V USB port.
  • 2. Watch the indicator light — it usually turns on (often red or pulsing) while charging.
  • 3. When the light turns green or switches off, the battery is full.
  • 4. Unplug it. Most top-ups take 10–30 minutes; a full charge is rarely more than an hour.
TipTop up little and often rather than draining fully every time. Short, regular charges keep vapour quality consistent right to the last drop of liquid.

Battery safety dos and don’ts

  • Do charge where you can see it and unplug when full.
  • Do let a hot device cool before charging.
  • Don’t charge overnight or leave it unattended for hours.
  • Don’t use a damaged cable or a device that is swollen, cracked or leaking.
  • Don’t expose it to direct heat, water or a hot car.
Stop using it if…the device gets very hot, swells, or smells unusual while charging. Unplug it, move it to a safe surface away from anything flammable, and dispose of it responsibly.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to charge a disposable vape?
Usually 10 to 60 minutes depending on how flat it is. A quick top-up is often all you need to keep vaping.
Can I use a fast charger?
It is safer to use a standard low-power 5V USB port such as a laptop or power bank. High-wattage fast chargers are not recommended for small disposable batteries.
Can I vape while it is charging?
Avoid it. Let the device finish charging, unplug it, then vape. This is safer and better for the battery.
Is it safe to charge overnight?
No. Charge while you are awake and can keep an eye on it, and unplug once it is full.
